Softeners for Soft Water
In many water suppliers, minerals like calcium and magnesium are
present which causes stiffness of water. The hardness causes scaling
problems in water heaters which results in boiler humidifiers, plumbing
systems and lower heat transfer.
This hardness is dealt by physio-chemical methods which includes
passing hard water through resin filled channels. These resins
assimilate the ions of calcium and magnesium from the hard water. When
the resin has been exhausted after a long period of use, it needs to be
reloaded or substituted.
